Please join us in celebrating this special and auspicious occasion of our Venerable Abbot’s 86th birthday (Continuation Day)! As a special celebration this year, we invite you to join us as we offer a prayer of blessings and longevity, and gift offerings as a token of the Sangha’s gratitude and appreciation toward Teacher’s guidance and teachings.
Venerable teacher has also requested that if you would like to make any offerings to him, to please make a monetary donation to the temple. All donations go toward helping maintain the temple and allowing us to continue to provide services and classes to the community.
This will be a dual-service with the Vietnamese sangha. We will have prayers and offerings in English and Vietnamese by the monastics and lay disciples. After the service, you are welcome to join us for lunch.
There will still be an informal and shortened version of the celebration at the 12:30 English service where we will offer the Venerable Abbot a group prayer of health and longevity. Following the prayer, we will request a Dharma teaching from the Venerable Teacher, and then chant the Aspirations of Samantabhadra Sutra.
After the service, you are welcome to join us for cake and conversation!
