Abbot: Most Venerable Thích Phuoc Quang

Abbot Thich Phuoc Quang is a Medical Doctor (MD) and Veteran of the South Vietnamese Army Medical Corps Commanding Officer of field hospital and medical battalion commander at the Military school of medicine. He was a Professor and deputy Chairman at the Civilian School of Medicine. He was an immigrant to the US in 1975. Then, resumed the practice of medicine in 1976 in West Texas, eventually moving to San Antonio in 1978. He was also a Clinical Associate Professor at UTHSCSA and private practice of Family Medicine and Geriatrics.
He became Abbot at Bao Quang Buddhist Temple NE San Antonio (2002-2007). In 2007, he built the Phuoc Hue San Antonio Buddhist Temple and has been Abbot ever since.
Abbess: Most Venerable Thích Nữ Quang Thông
Lineage: Zen
Bhikshuni Thích Nữ Quang Thông ordained as a Nun in 1990 at the age of 13 and took full ordination in 1995. She has completed Mid level and High Level Dharma Teaching Programs at the Central Council for Dharma Teaching in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
She was also a Dharma teacher at temples in Bến Tre province, Vietnam. After moving to the United States, she resided at the Bao Quang Temple in San Antonio and is now the Abbess of Phuoc Hue Temple of San Antonio.
Bhikshu: Venerable Thích Quang Trí

Venerable Master Thích Quang Trí has been a member of the temple since 2012 and has received his Three Refuge and Five Precepts, Bodhisattva Vows, and Tonsure Precepts from Venerable Master Thich Phuoc Quang (Abbot of Phuoc Hue Buddhist Temple of San Antonio).
Master Quang Trí received tonsure (Anagarika) in January 2019 at Phuoc Hue Temple, and Samanera (novice monk) Ordination in April 2019 and full Bhikshu ordination in July 2021 at the Thien Vien Truc Lam Dai Dang Monastery in Bonsall, California.
Venerable has a Master’s degree from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s from the University of Texas at San Antonio. The Venerable is also the author of The Buddha Journey: Questions & Answers for the Awakening Mind (2016) and Meditations: Aspirations & Reflections for a Happier Life (2021), and the “Dharma on Demand” podcast on Dharma Tree.
