Join us for our Sutra Study Class every 1st and 3rd Friday of the month at 6:30pm.
The study of Buddhist sutras (discourses) is an important piece of everyone’s spiritual journey to understand the deep meaning of the profound teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. Guided by Venerable Thích Quang Trí, the venerable will begin with the Buddha Pronounces the Sutra of Amitabha Buddha (Skt. Sukhāvatīvyūha Sūtra), also known as the Shorter Amitabha Sutra. It is one of the three main sutras of the Pureland School of Buddhism and is chanting every evening at the temple.
The Venerable Master will guide and teach the Amitabha Sutra for 16 weeks while analyzing and breaking down the sutra into smaller pieces to explore the various teachings, stories, and imagery of this beautiful and ancient sutra.
All are welcome, regardless of experience.
