Every first Saturday of the month, we will have an open volunteer day. Aside from our occasional “Day of Mindful Working” volunteer day, the open volunteer day will allow anyone and everyone to come to the temple and participate in some volunteer work.
There will be a message board outside the Main Temple Hall with specific volunteer duties that you may take on. Otherwise, these days are meant to help the temple monastics and members maintain the temple grounds. If there is no specific work assigned or work that you cannot perform, you are welcome to take on any other tasks you see that may be necessary (such as cleaning up and pulling grass and weeds in and around trees, flowers, etc., raking leaves, picking up trash, cleaning the statues and platforms with water, etc.).
Water and some snacks will be provided. You are welcome to bring additional refreshments for yourself, as well as sunscreen and bug spray.
If you would like to volunteer to satisfy your community volunteer hours, please schedule your day and time using this form (or the form below). This will require a 1-hour minimum of volunteer work for the temple to sign off.
