Auspicious greetings!

Please join us on Sunday, March 9 at 9am for a very auspicious and rare occasion of an Anagarika Ordination Ceremony. Anagarika literally means “homeless one” or “one who has left home life.” It is the first stepping stone to entering a monastic life at a temple or monastery. Though not quite a monk or a nun yet, an Anagarika shaves their head, holds the Eight Precepts, and lives and performs the duties of a monastic and is considered part of the monastic sangha.

This rare and beautiful ceremony will be held in the Main Buddha Hall accompanied by the monastic and lay sangha, family and friends to support the newly ordained in their journey of dedicating their life to study, practice, and attain full enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.
